Alzheimer’s Family Organization to host Caregiver Learning Day with Virtual Dementia Tour

News Masthead (2)The non-profit Alzheimer’s Family Organization will host a Caregiver Learning Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Residence at Timber Pines, 3140 Forest Road in Spring Hill, Florida on August 26. The event will be sponsored by The Residence at Timber Pines and Seniors Helping Seniors.

Topics and expert speakers will include “Coping with Caregiving” by Eileen Poiley, MS, Director of Education for the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute; “Communication and Challenging Behaviors” by Debbie Selsavage, President of Coping with Dementia LLC, and “Maneuvering Medicare and Medicaid” by eldercare attorney Matthew Barry, Esquire, of the Nature Coast Law Offices of Gregory Gay, PA.

The event will also feature free Virtual Dementia Tours provided by Senior Helpers.  The VDT is a science-based experience that builds sensitivity and awareness among individuals caring for those with dementia.
