After having been nominated for the title role each year, consecutively, since 2007, broker associate and property manager for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Jamie Mick, was crowned Queen Chasco 2015.
“It feels so very warm with all the great acts of kindness,” Jamie said of her royal title. “It also feels like a great responsibility to represent our community and to help the not-for-profits and their events. To share this great jewel that we have here in Pasco, and to let folks know we are here and ready to welcome them, is an awesome feeling!”
Jamie’s community service resume is extensive and exhaustive. Spanning nearly five full pages, her list of organizational affiliations, leadership positions, awards and nominations is enough to make anyone sit-up and take notice!
Space will not allow the full list of accolades and positions Jamie has held in organizations throughout our community. Suffice it to say, she is more than active! Aside from volunteering for Chasco Fiesta, she recently joined the Homeless Coalition of Metropolitan Ministries in Holiday. For years, she has served multiple Rotary chapters in west Tampa Bay; she sits on the boards of directors for Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired, CARES and Leadership Pasco; she is on the executive board for West Pasco Chamber of Commerce; and so many more that just scratch the surface of Jamie’s accomplishments in service to her community!
Nothing makes her happier than making a difference in peoples’ lives. “Helping others make their lives better, either through helping them build a better business, giving them a leg-up, or putting a smile on someone’s face, that’s what makes me most happy!”
Jamie helps others and her community in both her philanthropic and professional life, and she is quick to praise her colleagues for the teamwork and professionalism they demonstrate in the office.
She said, “It is all about balance. If you don’t keep balance in your life, then you are not at your best for anyone – in the office or out. If I could change one thing in my life, I would have learned to STOP and smell the roses and make time for myself, thereby making me a better person for everyone.”
There it is again. Even when speaking in terms of changing her own life, Jamie spins it to becoming better for others. That’s why she is the Chasco Queen 2015!
