Room Color Sets the Mood
Colors affect people in many ways, depending upon one’s age, gender, ethnic background and even their local climate. Certain colors tend to get a similar reaction to the overall difference being in the shade used. Understanding that colors behave in three basic ways: active, passive, and neutral will help you pick the right one for your space.
Red raises a room’s energy level. Use it in living rooms, dining rooms or entryways.
Yellow communicates happiness. Try this color for kitchens, dining rooms and bathrooms.
Orange evokes excitement. Great for an exercise room as it will bring out all those pinned up.
Blue can bring down blood pressure and slow respiration and heart rate. It is considered a good choice for bedrooms and bathrooms.
Green is believed to relieve stress and promote relaxation. It is suited for almost any room in the house.
Neutrals (black, gray, white, and brown) All-neutral schemes provide flexibility, simply add and subtract color to easily change the mood.
